The 1st Annual Laundry Safety Awareness Month: May 2008
Beginning May 1, 2008, companies participating in Laundry Safety ESPSM will observe the industry’s 1st Annual Laundry Safety Awareness Month.*
Participating companies will implement a series of interactive safety review programs on a week-by-week basis in May, in order to focus attention on specific safety topics. Topics covered will include:
- Week 1 – Safety Awareness;
- Week 2 – Lock-out/Tag-out;
- Week 3 – Confined Space;
- Week 4 – Fall Protection.
A committee of industry experts identified aspects of these topics as being critical to safety in laundry plants.
This web site includes a variety of resources, free of charge, to help participants implement the interactive safety review programs as effectively as possible, and publicize their companies’ participation internally and externally. Resources can be found by clicking the links at left, and include include:
- Presentations on each topic featured in the 1st Annual Laundry Safety Awareness Month;
- Laundry Safety Awareness Month/Laundry Safety ESP safety reminder posters and fliers for placement in plants.
- Customizable local news releases are available to registered participants via e-mail.

* Participants also are encouraged to consider observance of the OSHA and the American Society of Safety Engineers’ North American Occupational Safety and Health Week (May 4-10, 2008) and the National Safety Council’s Safety Awareness Month (June) for all industries.
